Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is a cloud computing model that provides organizations with virtualized computing resources over the internet. In an IaaS environment, users can access and manage fundamental IT infrastructure components like virtual machines, storage, networking, and servers without the need to invest in and maintain physical hardware. Instead, they rely on cloud service providers to deliver these resources on a pay-as-you-go or subscription basis.

IaaS offers several advantages to businesses, including scalability, cost-efficiency, and flexibility. Users can quickly scale their infrastructure up or down to accommodate changing workloads, eliminating the need for upfront hardware investments. It also reduces operational costs as organizations no longer have to manage and maintain physical servers and data centers. Additionally, IaaS allows for greater agility, enabling businesses to innovate and deploy applications more rapidly, as they have easy access to a vast pool of computing resources available on-demand through the cloud provider's infrastructure. This cloud model is suitable for various use cases, from hosting web applications and development environments to disaster recovery and data backup.
