HD+ customer success with Beyond Now BSS Plus

Customer Success

Helping HD+ manage Customer Data with Beyond Now’s BSS Plus

Business objectives

HD+ is a leading TV platform delivering satellite and hybrid TV services to satellite and IP households in Germany. As demand for its services continued to grow the company sought a single solution to cope with its expanding user base, capitalize on momentum and bring new offers to the market faster. To achieve this, HD+ selected Beyond Now’s BSS Plus to replace its existing in-house BSS.

Ensuring a smooth transition, Beyond Now’s technical experts helped HD+ migrate their customer data onto the new BSS within 26 hours. Hosted in a dedicated Microsoft Azure environment, and leveraging APIs for easy integration, the Beyond Now BSS Plus platform enabled HD+ to manage high volumes of monthly user subscriptions and automate key business processes. As a result, HD+ improved operational efficiency, significantly reduced infrastructure overheads and expanded its portfolio of services.

We selected Beyond Now to help us simplify our business processes and elevate customer management. Beyond Now BSS Plus gave us the agility needed to keep pace with rapid market growth and shifting customer expectations – for example, we now offer TV subscription-based offerings, as well as TV pre-paid offerings, all managed through Beyond Now’s central platform.
With Beyond Now BSS Plus at the heart of our operations, we’re delivering innovative TV services faster than ever before. We’d like to always submit ideal product and service offers to our customers. Beyond Now’s technology and expertise empower us to do that.

Management of multiple subscription types

Reduced infrastructure overhead – no database licenses, servers or OS issues to manage

Customer data migrated within 26 hours

Self-managed product and pricing updates via the dynamic product catalog for faster time to market

Beyond Now supports HD+ B2C and B2B business via the:

  • B2C webshop: pre-paid and subscription customers are managed in one place, with product options and an ultra-lean call center service team
  • B2B merchant platform: open APIs enable bundling and monetization of products and services from and to other partners

The solution

HD+ needed a future-ready solution to support rapid customer growth and accelerate time to market. TV service providers facing similar market dynamics can take inspiration from HD+’s approach: replacing rigid, legacy infrastructure with a cloud-native BSS that enables seamless scaling and innovation.

HD+ selected Beyond Now’s BSS Plus, a cloud-native, flexible solution with microservice architecture. Deployed on Microsoft Azure Cloud, within a dedicated environment, the BSS platform gives HD+ full control and the ability to launch new B2C services as demand requires. After initially integrating with HD+’s existing infrastructure to manage TV pre-paid customers, the platform’s flexible catalog and billing capabilities allowed HD+ to expand into post-paid subscriptions – all within a single, unified system.

The BSS Plus platform connects with the customer-facing HD+ webshop. Integration was handled through HD+’s core application and APIs, complemented by customized APIs from Beyond Now. The platform also supports the bundling and monetization of products and services to business partners, meaning that HD+ can leverage their merchant platform and easily provide new services to B2B customers.

Beyond Now’s BSS Plus also simplified payment processes for HD+ customers, supporting subscription renewals, one-off purchases, and voucher-based services. Vouchers can be purchased by HD+ customers through the HD+ webshop and redeemed annually, offering flexibility in how services are consumed and paid for. This voucher redemption backend functionality is supported by Beyond Now’s platform, integrated with the payment execution processes of a leading German payment gateway.

HD+ also leverages the Beyond Now product catalog and order management to streamline its offerings and automate the entire product lifecycle. Product characteristics and pricing are centrally managed, serving as the foundational data for the customer-facing webshop and merchant platform. This not only simplifies the rollout of new services but also ensures accuracy and consistency across all sales channels.

For TV service providers looking to future-proof their business, HD+ is a clear example of how a flexible SaaS BSS can reduce operational complexity, support both B2C and B2B growth, and open the door to continuous innovation, without the need for lengthy, high-risk transformation programs.

Key Business Benefits

Elevated Customer Experience

HD+ delivers a superior TV experience with minimal latency from order to activation, thanks to seamless integration between Beyond Now’s platform and key systems – including provisioning, smart card inventory, payment platforms, and service management layers. This real-time orchestration ensures that HD+ customers enjoy immediate access to services across both satellite and internet channels, with minimal latency, from order to activation.

Strengthened Partner Ecosystem

With a single, unified platform for managing both pre-paid and subscription offerings, HD+ gained greater efficiency, simplified operations, and accelerated time to market for new products. The platform’s open APIs also enhanced HD+’s ability to partner and bundle services, further strengthening ist established B2B ecosystem and facilitating collaboration with retailers/business partners.

Advanced Reporting & Data Visibility

Beyond Now provides finance and operational data exports from the BSS Plus environment to HD+’s internal data warehouse, which are imported daily by HD+ for use in business planning, and executive decision-making. This enables the HD+ team to generate detailed reports for finance, management, and strategic planning, including purchasing trends, subscription statistics and service usage metrics.

Operational Efficiency

Migrating to SaaS removed the need for HD+ to manage infrastructure, significantly lowering operational overhead. BSS Plus eliminated the burden of managing on-premise infrastructure, meaning that HD+ no longer has to maintain database licenses, servers, operating systems or hardware. This shift significantly reduced overhead and complexity, leading to a reduction in costs.
